Lake of the Pregnant Maiden and Cable Cars

On our last day we went to the Geoforest park, there’s not much to see in the park, the jewel is the Lake of the Pregnant Maiden it’s about a twenty minute walk uphill.

The story behind the lake of the pregnant maiden is a man named Mat Teja met and fell in love with the Princess Mambang Sari at the lake, they eventually got married and had a son. Their son didn’t live very long, and when he passed they decided to ‘lay’ him in the lake. The princess also blessed all women that wanted to have children; any women that go into the lake will be able to have children.

The hills behind the lake actually look like a woman laying on her back.

There are two things to do there; paddle boat and swim!

Up next… Cable cars!

It’s RM35 (about $12) per person, but you’ll have to wait for about 15-20 minutes. There’s an express lane that charges RM75 (about $21) and you get to go immediately. Before going into the cable cars you go into the ‘sky dome’ where you watch a short 3D clip.

  1. The views seem to be amazing. I like to check out the highest points in the cities I visit because I enjoy the panaromic picture. But a cable car is something that seems quite a thrilling way to take in a view – would love to do that one day!
